CALEDONIA STATE PARK CAMPGROUNDS: OVERVIEW

Caledonia State Park is a popular place to visit, picnic and camp in southern Pennsylvania.  There are quite a bit of things to do in Caledonia State Park itself, or you can venture next door to Pine Grove Furnace State Park for some time on the lakes.  You can also head to Michaux State Forest and enjoy some incredible hiking and exploring on the forest roads!

The park has two campgrounds with plenty of services, including options with full hookups all the way down to sites without any hookups.  Both campgrounds are kept up well, with nice bathhouses and options to explore right from the campground.

Reservations are accepted, and we recommend getting them well in advance. While this isn’t the most popular park in Pennsylvania, it does get filled up on the weekends in summer in particular.

CALEDONIA STATE PARK CAMPING SUPPLIES

Many parks are super-remote, but this isn’t one of them.  Camping supplies are not that far away if you find that you don’t have everything you need or find that you need to resupply during your visit.

Quick items can be picked up right in Fayetteville, PA, only a couple minutes from each of the campgrounds.  If you need a broader selection of groceries, head west to Guilford, PA or back to Chambersburg, PA.  Both are about 20 minutes away to the west, but offer a ton of good options.

Camping supplies and discount stores are also available in Chambersburg, PA.  Be prepared for a bit of traffic as you head out here, particularly in the afternoon or on the weekends when vacationers are heading into the area.
